Vietnam passport photo size & rules
Vietnam uses a 40x60mm (4x6cm) photo format for passports and many visa procedures, equal to 472x709 pixels at 300 dpi. This tall 4x6 format is larger than the European 35x45mm standard, so photos cut for a Schengen or UK application will not fit. Vietnamese requirements ask for the head to be centred and clearly shown within this frame, with the face front-facing and bare-headed.
The background must be plain and light, typically white or a light blue, evenly lit with no shadow behind the head. Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and mouth closed, both eyes open and clearly visible, and the head straight and uncovered. Vietnam generally asks that glasses be removed to avoid glare, and hats or head coverings are not permitted except on religious grounds with the full face visible. The photo must be recent and reflect your current appearance. Note that a Vietnamese e-visa applied for online usually requires a separate square-ish digital portrait uploaded to the system, which follows different pixel rules from the printed 4x6 photo.
Pixohub sizes your Vietnam passport or visa photo to the 40x60mm / 472x709 pixel format directly in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and your image stays private on your own device, and the tool is free. Vietnamese passport, visa, and e-visa photo rules are updated over time and differ between printed and online submissions. Always confirm the current official specifications with the Vietnam Immigration Department or the relevant consulate before printing or uploading your photo.
