South Korea passport photo size & rules
South Korea uses the 35x45mm passport photo format, equal to 413x531 pixels at 300 dpi. Korean rules are precise about the head: the face from chin to crown should measure about 32 to 36mm, with the head centred and a defined margin above the hair, and both ears ideally visible. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs applies these proportions strictly, and photos with hair covering the face or the ears are a common reason for rejection.
The background must be plain white and uniform, evenly lit with no shadow, and the photo taken in sharp colour. Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and mouth closed, both eyes open and clearly visible, and the head level rather than tilted. South Korea does not accept coloured or tinted lenses, and clear glasses should be removed if they cause any glare. Head coverings are only accepted for religious reasons, provided the full face remains visible. The photo must be recent, taken within the last six months, and must not be digitally altered in a way that changes your appearance.
Pixohub formats your South Korean passport or visa photo to 413x531 pixels on a white background directly in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and your image stays private on your own device, and the tool is free. Requirements from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Korean consulates are updated over time and enforced strictly. Always confirm the current official specifications on the relevant government or consulate website before printing or submitting your photo.
