China Visa passport photo size & rules
For a Chinese visa processed through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC), the photo requirements are stricter than for many countries. The required size is 33x48mm, equal to 390x567 pixels at 300 dpi. The photograph must be recent, in colour, taken bareheaded and full-face against a plain white background, and it must match your current appearance as recorded on the online COVA visa application form.
China visa photos require a pure white background with no borders, shadows, or reflections. Your head width should be between 15mm and 22mm and head height between 28mm and 33mm, with the face centred and looking straight at the camera. Keep a neutral expression with the mouth closed, ears and eyebrows visible where possible, and remove glasses that cause glare or tinted lenses. Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons and must not cover the face. Photos are checked closely at the CVASC counter, so poor lighting or incorrect dimensions can lead to rejection.
Pixohub prepares your China visa photo entirely in your browser with no upload, so your picture never leaves your device and stays private, and the service is free. Chinese visa photo standards and CVASC procedures can change, so always verify the current official China visa photo requirements with the Chinese Visa Application Service Center before submitting your application.
