Uganda passport photo size & rules
Ugandan passports are issued by the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, and applicants supply a photograph in the standard 35x45mm size. Produced at 300 DPI, this equals 413x531 pixels, a resolution well suited to the East African e-passport enrolment and to the online application portal used by the directorate.
The directorate expects a recent colour photograph on a plain white background with even lighting that keeps the face and backdrop free of shadows. The applicant should look directly at the camera with a neutral expression, mouth closed, and both eyes clearly open and unobstructed. In line with biometric norms the head should fill roughly 70 to 80 percent of the frame so the features can be captured accurately. Frequent reasons for rejection include glare on glasses, uneven lighting, and off-white or textured backgrounds, so a simple, front-facing image works best. The same portrait format is also handy for the national identity card and for visa applications across the region and beyond.
Pixohub creates your Uganda passport photo 100% in the browser, so the picture is processed entirely on your device with no upload and stays completely private, and the service is free of charge. Because official e-passport requirements can change, please verify the current rules with the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control before printing or completing your online application.
