Russia passport photo size & rules
Russia uses the 35x45mm format for passports and visas, equal to 413x531 pixels at 300 dpi. For Russian visa applications the head should occupy roughly 70-80% of the frame, with the face measuring about 32-36mm from chin to crown, and the eyes positioned in the upper part of the photo. Russian consulates and visa centres are known for rejecting photos where the head is too small or the framing is loose.
The background must be plain white and uniform, evenly lit with no shadows or borders. Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and mouth closed, both eyes open and clearly visible, and keep the head straight and uncovered. Russia accepts everyday prescription glasses only if the eyes are fully visible without glare or tint; sunglasses and heavy frames are not allowed. Head coverings are only accepted for religious reasons, provided the full face from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead remains visible. Photos must be recent and reflect your current appearance.
Pixohub formats your Russian passport or visa photo to 413x531 pixels on a white background directly in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and your image stays private on your device, and the service is free. Russian visa photo rules are updated over time and can differ slightly between consulates and outsourced visa centres. Always confirm the current official requirements with the consulate or visa centre handling your application before printing or submitting your photo.
