Ghana passport photo size & rules
Ghanaian passports are issued by the Passport Office under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and applicants provide a photograph in the standard 35x45mm size. Prepared at 300 DPI, this equals 413x531 pixels, a resolution suitable for the biometric passport and for the online passport application portal. Ghanaian applicants using the online biometric system from abroad meet the very same specification as those applying in Accra.
For a biometric passport the Passport Office expects a recent colour photograph on a plain white background with even lighting and no shadows on the face or behind the head. The applicant should look straight at the camera with a neutral expression and closed mouth, keeping both eyes open and clearly visible. The head is expected to fill about 70 to 80 percent of the frame so the features are large enough for accurate capture. Poor lighting, glare on glasses, and coloured backgrounds are frequent reasons for a retake, and because the same portrait works for the Ghana Card and for many visa applications, a clean, front-facing image is worth preparing carefully.
Pixohub builds your Ghana passport photo 100% in the browser, so the picture stays on your device with no upload and remains completely private, and the service is free. As official photo requirements can change, please verify the current specifications with the Passport Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before printing or completing your online application.
